What my mother told me once, stood out as one of the proudest moments in my life

“There is hardly a time when most of us think of making ourselves proud of something that we do – it is almost always ‘I want to make someone else proud of what I am doing’. I am definitely on the same boat.

The path that I am walking in my life is so deviant from the more regular way of living or making your parents feel proud. I always wanted to act. I always yearned to hear that they are proud of me doing what I am doing.

One time, my mother did say something that made me beam like few things ever have. I had moved out of home to pursue my career in acting in a different city, where I barely knew anyone and did not have much savings as well.

I was very close to being broke, feel absolutely alone. My parents were also mad at me for taking that decision. After a year, one day my mom out of the blue said, “I could have never done what you did, and I think it is brilliant that you are able to be so fearless and I am so proud of you.”

That was it. That stood out as one of the proudest moments in my life.”
