Hear Her Stories started as a Canadian online media company, founded by a visible minority immigrant woman, Anahita Thukral, that aims to amplify women’s voices and celebrate their achievements in the form of stories. Through engaging with women leaders from various sectors, Hear Her Stories has identified the need to offer diverse women in Canada the access to resources and training to support their transition to the workforce. Over the past couple of years Hear Her Stories has organically grown to thousands of members who engage with the resources and content produced at Hear Her Stories.

 

Hear Her Stories has also launched a strategic initiative, Diverse Women (DiWo), which has offered employment and career readiness training to visible minority women to secure mid-senior level positions at technology, finance, consulting, and telecommunication companies in Canada. 

 

DiWo has developed free resources and acts a navigator for the future of work. Our goals is to help bring visibility to the talent in looking for tech jobs in multiple industries. DiWo achieves its goal of supporting diverse women by providing: 1) technical and management skills training and 2) assistance in securing jobs where women can leverage their strengths. DiWO also helps organizations that are committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusivity in the workplace through programs that create an environment for women at all stages of their careers to grow.
